El Salvador: pregnant woman at risk of death being denied abortion

A pregnant woman with serious health problems is being denied access to an abortion without which, doctors have warned, she is likely to die. Beatriz, who has a one year old son, has been requesting the treatment for over a month. However, abortion is illegal under all circumstances in El Salvador and doctors are unable to carry out the lifesaving procedure for fear they will receive a lengthy prison sentence.
